I just can't believe youtube's really changing its policy this badly. Sure the terms of service have long essentially defined everything as hate speech while encouraging people to voice controversial opinions (yes very mixed messages!). In practice this means the policy is defined by how its enforced. Up till recently I thought youtube did an excellent job of allowing vibrant discussion of controversial topics:- a mature and responsible policy that would make anyone who espoused the virtues of the Enlightenment happy!

Then I got four videos taken down in half an hour, and a 'privacy notifications' against a further two. Believe it or not, the privacy notifications were against videos where I documented a muslim guy hunting for and dropping my docs. WTF, seriously W-T-F.
He drops my docs, YT scarcely bats an eyelid, now he says the video calling him on it is violating his privacy?

The following videos were taken down, according to YT after review by their dedicated members who determined these videos violated terms of use. This can only make sense if its 'Youtube-Malaysia: Theocratic Chapter'. Malaysia is the place that recently sent a guy back to Saudi where he may face death for merely making three vanilla tweets about Islam. For me it doesnt seem impossible that there is an element of disconnect between what 'Youtube Malaysia' and the rest of the world regard as religiously offensive.

I can only hope that it really is this simple, that it's just an error by an overzealous censor. If its a change in policy, its an ill wind that doesn't blow anyone any good.

I just recently saw this video and for it to be removed as "hate speech" is absurd at best. I also encourage anyone who has a youtube account to comment on this video and let youtube know how you feel about them bowing to religious zealots. The fact that they can still put out videos claiming the earth is 6,000 years old and that a belief otherwise will result in an eternal torture while not allowing the voice of logic and reasoning to be heard is unbelievable!

Censorship is a slippery slope youtube, watch your step.

Church and Religion is EVIL. All it does is teach and promote hate, bigotry, killing, and robbing of the sheeple that fall for this utter religious nonsense.

I hope it's just a mistake. I wonder if it has anything to do with the whole Koran burning thing or if it's just a blip. I can't watch the video now but I will later. Thanks for putting this up, Presence.

My thoughts exactly, I hope they correct it soon. Thunderf00t is known for his no punches pulled attitude, but I don't think it's something that should be condemned. He can be a bit brash, but I've met many brash zealots in my day, they just don't like the taste of their own medicine it would seem.

Isn't that the truth. It's fine and dandy for them to tell us we're going to burn in hell forever, but the moment we suggest that they might burn in Muslim hell, suddenly we're becoming "hostile".

This is BULL. Well looks like Ill be contacting youtube. If they can allow hate groups to post the most vile lies about gay people, and gay bashing videos, then they need to allow videos offensive to religions. If religion can dish it, then they can take it too. .

In there attempts to open up new markets where they are currently banned Youtube may just censor itself to obscurity, ending up being as relevant as GEOcities.

    The moment You Tube crossed the line by censoring anything other than FCC banned material, they lost their credibility as a neutral forum. I don't claim to know the facts behind all of this, but if what I'm reading is correct, they are hindering free speech. As repugnant as forms of free speech can take, they are allowed under our constitution.
